KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 26, 2026 – The ninth edition of the YouChenghui International Youth Painting Exhibition has officially opened in Malaysia, marking a new chapter in cross-cultural youth exchange through artistic expression. The event’s overseas launch took place recently at the Malaysia National Handicraft Arts Village, and was co-organized by the Jiangsu Provincial Media Group alongside local Malaysian partners.
Designed as a platform for creative dialogue, the exhibition brings together young artists from China and Malaysia to celebrate cultural diversity and build deeper friendships through art. About 100 paintings were showcased at the ceremony, with each piece reflecting the artists’ vibrant interpretations of one another’s cultural heritage and shared aspirations for mutual understanding.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Lee Tai Hong, Deputy Director General of Tourism Malaysia, emphasized the broader significance of the event. He described the exhibition as more than just an art display, but as a powerful “bridge connecting hearts and minds,” offering youth from both countries a meaningful space to learn from one another and forge lasting bonds.
Mr. He Ning, Deputy Director of Jiangsu Provincial Media Group, underscored the enduring goals of the YouChenghui initiative. He noted that the project aims to foster closer ties between the young people of Malaysia and China through artistic collaboration, and expressed eagerness to host more Malaysian youths in Jiangsu to experience China’s rich culture and modern vibrancy firsthand.
Now in its ninth year, YouChenghui has grown into a well-established exchange platform, having engaged tens of thousands of young participants in previous editions. The initiative continues to explore new interactive formats, encouraging young creatives to connect across borders and deepen cultural appreciation through painting, workshops, and related activities.
